Dishwasher caught fire in Ely building on Chapel Street | Ely Standard

The cause of a fire inside a building in Ely has been confirmed.

Crews from the city were called to the blaze on Chapel Street at 7pm on Monday June 2.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a dishwasher on the first floor.

Wearing breathing apparatus, they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

They returned to their station by 8.30pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
