Fallout Theater is offering an hour long free sample class to anyone who might be curious about improv comedy, but isn’t ready to commit to a full 8-week class. Every Thursday of the month at 6:00pm the theater offers a fun, friendly, low pressure introductory improv class that is open to anyone. Whether you’re a creative type looking to pursue a career in comedy, or just someone who wants to have fun and meet people in a supportive group environment, come give it a try!

Y’all We Asian features some of the most diverse stand ups and improvisers in the city for a night of comedy you won’t want to miss. Comprised of experienced performers from all five Austin improv comedy theaters, “Y’all We Asian” is Austin’s (and Texas’) first all Asian-American improv troupe.

Join Fareground on their lawn for their summer “Screen on the Green” viewing: Toy Story. Poetry and Pottery may seem an unlikely pair, however both utilize form for function, both with elements of storytelling and metaphor that enable us to see beyond the physical. Join Epoch Coffee with poet Gabrielle GraceHogan and potter Don Brimberry in exploring the nature of meaning in substance, and the vessels that form your experience.

Texas Farmers’ Market is celebrating National Farmers Market Week August 12th & 13th, with live music, kid’s activities, a special chef demo from Comedor Chef Philip Speer at the Mueller market, giveaways, and more. One of Texas’s biggest car meetups is back! Cars & Coffee Austin is fun for the whole family with an eclectic showing of Texas’ finest automobiles. Classics, racecars, exotics, hot rods, muscle cars, tuners, off-roaders, JDM, alternative energy—you name it, they’re here. Cars & Coffee is a free event for spectators on select Sundays this year at Circuit of The Americas.

The ATX Short Film Showcase is Austin’s monthly film festival. Every month, they curate 7-8 local short films, followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers. We Luv Video and Lazarus Brewing teamed up to offer a monthly summer film series on Lazarus Brewing’s patio. The theme of the series is summer camp. Join Moontower on Mondays for Messy Moontower Monday. This is a fun and energetic version of the old paint and sip event. Come as a lone adventure or bring a group. They welcome everyone to come drink creatively with them. Doesn’t matter whether you are just beginning your creative adventure or you have been artsy your whole life. They’ll guide you, or you and your friends, through two lively hours of drinking, arting, and laughing ‘til your cheeks hurt. You don’t have to be a painter to have an amazing time in creating your personalized and quality piece of art, and remember beginners are welcomed and encouraged!

Head to Republic Square Park every Tuesday evening for free yoga, live music, snacks, and refreshments. The series kicks off at 7:30 p.m. BYO mat and water.

BASHH is Austin’s relaxed mixer filled mostly with tech nerds and operations folks that may be introverts but are going to suck it up for a few hours for networking purposes. Head to Fareground on Sunday mornings for Grounded Yoga, a free yoga class on their outdoor plaza space. Classes are free and open to the public with ticket registration. During Central Market’s Knife Sharpening Class, discover the characteristics of a well-made knife, how to care for your equipment and how to position your hands to chop like a pro. After learning to slice, dice, peel and julienne, the results of your hard work become a meal. For ages 18 & up. 21 or older? You’ll enjoy a glass of wine with your meal at the end of class.

Teenage Dirtbag explores a simpler, more hormonal time when we were all worried about our braces and who’d be in our home room. This show takes our high school experiences and gives ’em a wedgie before stuffing them in a locker. Because you’re an adult now, baby, and angst plus time equals comedy. Featuring a special guest storyteller every month and an all star selection of Austin’s funniest improvisers. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

Join Urban Axes for a night of fundraising, food, drinks and of course axe throwing raising money to support Friends of Austin Animal Center! You will start the night with training from their Axepert coaches, practice perfecting the bullseye playing some matches against friends, and then end with a friendly tournament with prizes. Food and Drink will be provided by their sponsors, but feel free to BYO (no hard liquor) if you’d like something else. This event is open to everyone 21+.
